Erik Stenbeck was born in 1951 in Norway. He pursued his education at the University of Oslo and Østfold College, earning an academic degree of cand. philol. / Master of Arts. His studies focused on the History of Art and languages, including German and English.

In the field of photography, Erik Stenbeck honed his skills through participation in the Morten Krogvold Workshop and self-directed learning, complemented by art studies.

Erik Stenbeck has showcased his work in various exhibitions, including the May/June 2022 exhibition at FotoNostrum Barcelona.

His contributions to the field have been recognized in publications, with a feature in the September 2022 issue (no 28) of FotoNostrum magazine.

Erik Stenbeck's accomplishments in photography include receiving Honorable Mentions in the International Photography Awards in 2020 and 2021, as well as being selected as part of the Official Selection in 2022. He also achieved Official Selection status in the Tokyo International Photo Awards 2022 and the London International Creative Competition's Shoot (photo/video) category in 2022.

"Mysticism of nature and its relation to man is what I try to explore in my photos.
My images challenge the observer “to see the unseen”.
The subjects that flood my photography are, however, varied, from the human figure to landscapes and architecture, with a particular inclination for the black and white range.
Existential insecurity is a central theme of many of my images.
My photographs are accidental observations in daily life. I try to catch the spontaneity of a situation. None of the compositions are constructed."
